Compatibility
Google Talk works with Microsoft’s Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Server 2003. In addition to these Windows operating systems, Google Talk is also available for the iPhone, Blackberry and T-Mobile’s G1.
From direct messages to group conversations, Google Hangouts Chat helps teams collaborate easily and efficiently. Get Hangouts Chat as part of G Suite.
Gmail
Gmail users will find that their stored Gmail contacts have been automatically added to their friends list upon logging into Google Talk for the first time. Voicemail and the ability to access a chat history are additional Google Talk features available only to Gmail account holders.
Telephone Equipment
A computer with an internet connection is all that Google Talk users need to chat and send instant messages. In order to take advantage of Google Talk’s free telephone service, however, a microphone and speaker are also needed. Google recommends using a headset for optimal voice quality when making calls.
